Documents Required
- Aadhaar card / Passport / Voter ID of the food business operator

No water test report, NOC or trade licence is required for basic registration — making it the simplest FSSAI option for small food businesses.
Registration Process
We file Form A on the FoSCoS (Food Safety Compliance System) portal — the official FSSAI online platform for Pondicherry. Details of the food business operator, premises and food categories are entered.
Government fee: Rs. 100 per year. Registration can be obtained for 1 to 5 years. For a 5-year registration, the fee is Rs. 500. Payment via online banking or demand draft.
Application forwarded to the Designated Officer of Pondicherry. For basic registration, approval is typically granted within 7 working days without physical inspection.
FSSAI Registration Certificate (Form B) with a 14-digit registration number is issued. The certificate must be displayed at the premises. It must be renewed before expiry.
